  1. Approach your telehealth sessions with the same seriousness you approach an in-person counseling session.

  2. Ensure an on-time start by verifying your technology supports telehealth sessions prior to your designated appointment time. Please be sure to check your device’s settings in advance. Please do not wait until your appointment start time to check your settings.

  3. Do not attend telehealth sessions under the influence of alcohol or illegal substances.

  4. Ensure the space you use for telehealth sessions is private and free of noise distractions (public places are not appropriate).

  5. Make reasonable efforts to eliminate all distractions in the space you use for your telehealth session (e.g., secure pets, silence/turn off other electronic devices, secure care for children, etc.).

  6. Do not allow other individuals to be present in the space you use for your telehealth session, particularly if your therapist is unaware of their presence. If clinically appropriate, others may join your session at the discretion of your therapist, with pre-approval.

  7. Maintain focus and attention on your therapeutic work for the full duration of your session (e.g., remove your cell phone from the therapeutic space, refrain from moving about your location, do not prepare food/beverages, do not perform household tasks, etc.).

  8. Be aware your therapist reserves the right to terminate your telehealth session at any time, if it is determined necessary therapeutic conditions are not sufficiently met.

  9. Commit to respect the therapeutic process, other clients, and your therapist's time, by being punctual and attending all scheduled sessions. (All FCS practice policies apply to telehealth sessions).

  10. If you are more than ten minutes late to your session, you will be asked to reschedule for another time.
